Bernadette de Lavernette offers us a variety of edible hibiscus, also called Bissap, it is harvested in the Itasy region. A jam whose confit exudes blackcurrant or redcurrant depending on the maturity of the calyces.
On the palate, the Hibiscus Violet jam is a walk in the woods suggested by the tangy finery of red berries, which leaves a smoky background. We find a magical mixture of Hibiscus and violet, with spicy notes.
You can enjoy this jam on a slice of cereal bread, or simply with a butter cookie. It will also work wonderfully with plain yogurt or sugar-free cheese. Good tasting.
